...относительно причин конфронтации Саудовской Аравии и Ирана мнение цивилизованного человечества – от Нью-Йорка до Москвы – едино. Варварские казни, которыми саудиты «отметили» Новый год, Рождество Христово и Рождество Пророка Мухаммада, вызывают общее негодование.

Officially, the executions are related to drug trafficking, but independent observers have questioned this claim. An Iranian man, Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani, was scheduled to be executed on 10 September 2012, on the charge of "enmity against God" (moharebeh) for his alleged support of a banned Iranian opposition group.
